The story of 153 Mile Ranch

Amber (Patenaude) Stratton’s family has lived on and operated the 153 Mile Ranch for three generations. In the early 1900’s, the 153 Mile Store, originally built by Italian settler Louis Crosina, supplied food and goods to gold prospectors along the Gold Rush Trail. In this storyteller series episode, we learn about what it was like growing up on the ranch and how exciting it was for Amber and her children to play in a store that is a real life early 1900’s time capsule.
