In the fourth episode of the Gold Rush Trail storyteller series, we meet Ralph Phillips, a Xat’sull Elder and Xat’sull Heritage Village (pronounced hat-sull) guide located on the banks of the Fraser on the traditional fishing grounds of the Xat’sull First Nation, just 30 minutes from Williams Lake. Ralph is passionate about his community and culture where he welcomes visitors from all over the world to share stories and Secwepemc culture. In this video, Ralph shares some of the impacts the gold rush had on his ancestors and more generally Indigenous people of this region.
